We recently went on an unplanned road trip in Uttarakhand where we explored couple of amazing places around. The trip was turned out to be one of the best travel experiences of my life. What started as a casual thought quickly turned into a real journey with my wife. We didn’t plan much—just packed our bags, filled the car tank, and started driving towards the mountains. The car was delivered by local taxi provider at Dehradoon airport and from where we started our journey.

Our first stop was Haridwar, where we enjoyed the peaceful Ganga Aarti. From there, we moved ahead to Rishikesh and explored the famous Laxman Jhula and local cafes. The freshness of the Ganga and the energy of the town gave us a great start.
As we drove ahead into the hills, the views became more magical—lush green mountains, rivers flowing along the roads, and small dhabas where we stopped for hot parathas and tea. We visited Devprayag and then reached Rudraprayag, a peaceful town surrounded by natural beauty.
One of the most memorable parts was visiting the ancient temples of Kartik Swami and enjoying the calmness around us. We also took a short trek towards the Kartik Swami temple which is located near Rudraprayag and witnessed views of the Himalayan peaks.
Even though we didn’t have a fixed itinerary, every turn of the road brought a new surprise. We stayed in GMVN hotels, met friendly locals, and clicked lots of pictures. The trip was full of temples, rivers, mountains, and adventure.
This journey taught me that sometimes, unplanned trips give the best memories. All we need is a little courage to hit the road and enjoy what comes our way.
